HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT

Starting Hourly Rate:
$23.00 to $27.00 (20+ hours per week)
Job Description:
Under the direction of the Human Resource Generalist, the human resource assistant will be responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resource Department including onboarding, file management and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Respond to employee inquiries and questions via email and over the phone Assist with document management, recordkeeping and reporting Assist with onboarding including preparing paperwork, scheduling and new hire orientation Create and maintain employee personnel files through the lifecycle of employment Comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day tasks with the support of the HR Generalist Employment verifications Prepare correspondence and other documents as needed All other duties as assigned by the
HR Generalist Requirements and Education:
High school diploma required, associates or bachelor's degree preferred; strong verbal and written communication skills; strong ability to organize, prioritze and pay attention to detail; previous experience within a HR Department utilizing ADP, Kronos and Employee Navigator preferred; familiarity with OCFS, OMH and Justice Center procedure; knowledgeable in HR regulations preferred; ability to maintain confidentiality.
