Job Description:
The office of University Services seeks qualified candidates for an Office Assistant 3 (Human Resources), SG14, in the Human Resources Department. Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Incumbents in the OA3 (HR) positions spend most of their work time performing activities related to human resources management. Their work may closely resemble those of other Office Assistants, and their tasks may encompass the broad range of Office Assistant tasks. Processing personnel transactions, employee benefit applications, and claims, including supervision of other staff performing these functions, if applicable. Maintain and manage the maintenance of a variety of personnel and payroll office records. Conduct new employee orientation sessions. Provide employees and managers with information on and interpretations of the agency's personnel procedures and policies, the personnel transaction process, attendance rules, employee programs, or other aspects of the personnel system. Manage the processing of employee benefit claims. Recruitment/onboarding responsibilities, which may include gaining subject matter expertise in Civil Service processes, managing job postings and ensuring processes keep moving timely, oversight of onboarding, campus support such as devising helpful reference material for campus use. Managing intake meetings to determine appropriate referral/documentation, including around recruitment, personnel, or benefits. Coordinate online compliance training system to upload custom training/documents, issue training to campus, and report/track outstanding completion. Maintain strict confidentiality. Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Civil Service Eligible List:
Taken and passed the Office Assistant 3 (Human Resources) exam. OR Eligible for Reassignment Requirement/Lateral Transfer, Reinstatement, or Promotion. Transfer Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive, non-competitive or 55-b/c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.

Other:
This is a full-time, 12-month, permanent (upon completion of probationary period), SG14, CSEA represented position with an entry level salary of $59,049.
