Job Description

Job Title:
Human Resources Assistant Are you detail-oriented, highly organized, and looking to grow your career in Human Resources? This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a high-visibility compliance initiative supporting a critical I-9 audit and data cleanup effort. You'll work closely with HR and compliance teams, gaining hands-on experience with federal regulations, audit processes, and HR operations—all while making a measurable impact on the organization. What You'll Do Review and audit employee I-9 forms to ensure accuracy, completeness, and full compliance with federal regulations Identify and flag missing or incorrect documentation and support resolution efforts Partner with HR and compliance teams to coordinate corrections and maintain audit standards Organize and manage physical I-9 files in alignment with retention and audit requirements Track audit progress, outstanding items, and updates using Excel and internal systems Support large-scale data cleanup and record reconciliation initiatives Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information Assist with audit readiness and support responses to internal and external audits What You Bring Hands-on experience with I-9 verification and E-Verify Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite Solid HR administrative and data entry experience Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment Qualifications High school diploma required 1+ year of Human Resources experience Why This Opportunity Stands Out Gain experience with high-impact compliance and audit initiatives Build expertise in federal employment regulations and HR operations Work closely with experienced HR and compliance professionals Be part of a detail-driven, collaborative team environment Excellent opportunity to grow your career in HR Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Orangeburg, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
