With multiple facilities spanning more than 300,000 square feet, we deliver high-quality materials, products, and services worldwide across various business units including contract manufacturing, riding mower attachments, powder coating, and custom plastic extrusions. Overview We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Payroll Coordinator to join our team. This vital role ensures accurate payroll processing, maintains compliance with employment laws, and supports HR functions that foster a positive workplace environment. The ideal candidate will be energized by owning HR operations and enhancing employee experience through meticulous attention to detail and proactive communication. This role will deliver end-to-end payroll process. Ideal candidate will take pride in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant pay for all employees, and serves as the go-to resource for pay- and timekeeping-related questions. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and coordinates closely with the on-site HR Generalist and the HR Director on benefits, HRIS data, and HR compliance matters. This is a strong fit for a payroll professional who is enjoys managing the payroll function independently and can flex into functional HR support. Responsibilities Manage payroll processing activities ensuring timely and accurate compensation for all employees using HR systems such as UKG, SAGE and more. Proven experience in HR department functions with a focus on payroll processing and personnel administration. Strong knowledge of human resources management practices including employment & labor law compliance and benefits administration. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle conflict management and employee relations effectively. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in data entry and record keeping. regulations, and HR legal standards. Maintain confidential employee records and handle sensitive information with integrity. Maintain and administer the payroll system, including timekeeping integration, pay rate changes, tax setup, and deduction/garnishment processing. Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local wage-and-hour law, tax withholding requirements, and recordkeeping standards. Reconcile payroll to the general ledger each cycle and partner with the CFO/accounting on payroll-related journal entries and variance questions. Manage payroll tax filings and year-end payroll activities (W-2 processing, ACA reporting support, annual audits). Process wage garnishments, child support orders, and levies in compliance with legal requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee pay, timekeeping, and deduction questions, resolving discrepancies quickly. Support workers' compensation premium audits and unemployment claims with accurate wage data. Prepare recurring payroll reports for management (labor cost, overtime, headcount by pay period, etc.). Administer new hire onboarding paperwork, I-9 verification, and personnel file maintenance. Support benefits enrollment, changes, and reconciliation of monthly billing, in coordination with the HR Generalist. Maintain HRIS employee records (status changes, terminations) alongside payroll data. Assist the CFO with basic HR administrative tasks and recordkeeping as needed. Requirements 3+ years or equivalent of hands-on payroll processing experience, ideally including multi-state or multi-shift manufacturing payroll. Strong working knowledge of payroll tax requirements, wage-and-hour law (FLSA), and garnishment processing. Proficiency with a payroll/HRIS platform (e.g., UKG & Sage, a plus, or similar payroll programs) and strong Excel skills. Experience reconciling payroll to the general ledger or comfort partnering closely with finance/accounting. High attention to detail and accuracy under firm, recurring deadlines. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive data with discretion. Comfort taking on light HR administrative duties in addition to core payroll ownership.Proven experience in HR department functions with a focus on payroll processing and personnel administration.
