Job Description

Job Summary:
As a Human Resource Assistant, this position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating all aspects of the employee onboarding process to ensure a positive and efficient transition for new hires. This position serves as a primary point of contact for new employees, assisting with pre-employment requirements, orientation, onboarding documentation, and compliance activities. The HR Assistant assists with clerical duties to ensure accurate and timely processing of personnel information, and enforces company policies and practices.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Responsible for conducting the new hire process/orientation for new employees, which includes benefit enrollment, new hire paperwork, and setting up the employee to meet with the onboarding team members. 2. Maintains accurate and up-to-date personnel files, including filing and scanning of paperwork, termination files, and periodic audits to verify the accuracy of files. 3. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records. 4. Responsible for assisting with recruitment, including reference checks, background checks, and pre-employment drug tests. 5. Maintains I-9 files, both paper and electronic. 6. Responsible for checking OIG at new hire and providing a monthly list to Compliance for OIG processing. 7. Responsible for entering new hire, termination, and payroll data into systems. 8. Tracks employees' licensure and notifies the department manager and employee when the employee's license expires. 9. Maintains employees' RIPS files through Relias and notifies employees of the due date. 10. Maintains employees' BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc., files and notifies employees and the department manager of the due date. 11. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc. 12. Provides clerical support to the HR department. 13. Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc. 14. Responsible for monthly morale games, prizes, etc. Sends out monthly birthday cards to employees. 15. Performs all other duties assigned by supervisor.
Job Specification:
Qualifications:
High School Graduate or GED required. Experience in Human Resources setting is preferred. Must be computer proficient. Microsoft 365 with Excel proficiency.
Education/Training:
Ongoing human resource/payroll training.
Skills:
Maintains a high degree of credibility, independence, integrity, confidentiality and trust. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.
Physical Effort:
Work requires frequent sitting and typing. Work requires occasional walking, stooping/bending, climbing, driving and lifting up to 25 lbs. Works primarily at a desk.
