Job Description

Position Summary Provides comprehensive human resources support to the College of Education within a fast-paced, high-volume academic environment. Supports multiple departments and units and serves as a knowledgeable HR resource to faculty, staff, and department administrators. Resolves complex and sensitive human resources matters with a high level of professionalism, sound judgment, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Partners with MSU Human Resources to interpret and apply university policies and procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Works closely with the HR Manager and college leadership to coordinate and deliver HR services that support the operational and strategic needs of the College of Education including but not limited to job postings, hiring, employment transactions in EBS such as reappointments, pay changes change of status, terminations, reporting relationships. Providing HR data from EBS Business Intelligence reporting, to provide and make informed HR decisions. Acts as a strategic partner to college leadership within units to forecast staffing needs and strategize regarding HR matters. Liaise with unit chairs and college budget and fiscal officer to ensure accuracy of faculty and staff assignments and accounting. Manages multiple priorities and competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and consistency across supported units. Builds effective working relationships across departments and units and provides timely, customer-focused HR guidance. Ensures that human resources activities are well-coordinated, compliant, detail-oriented, and aligned with the strategic initiatives and goals of the College of Education. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or a field related to the employing unit; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in managing human resource functions, designing and implementing training programs and human resource/labor relations management and computer applications; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require experience related to the field of employment. Desired Qualifications Masters Degree in a related field and five to eight years of experience in human resources Knowledge of human resources and business management principles and practices Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality Ability to understand complex problems and develop effective solutions Knowledge of university, state, and federal regulations related to human resources management Knowledge of ERP systems, specifically EBS including BI and SAP modules Excellent written and verbal communication skills Equal Employment Opportunity Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, age, disability or protected veteran status.
