HR Support Specialist - Part-time St. George's School - 5.0 Middletown, RI Job Details Part-time 22 hours ago Qualifications Google Workspace Confidential information handling Microsoft Excel Word embeddings Database management Attention to detail Organizational skills Productivity software Associate's degree Full Job Description Primary Functions Assist the Human Resources (HR) Manager in providing HR support for all faculty and staff personnel. The HR Support Specialist performs various administrative tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the HR department. Supervises None.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities Recruitment Support:
Maintain HR email, assist with posting job openings internally and place advertisements on internet platforms and other relevant media as well as manage candidate resumes.
Benefits Administration:
Explain benefit plans to employees and assist with the enrollment process. Help employees resolve issues with benefit providers and insurance carriers. Assist with the annual benefits open enrollment period.
Database Management:
Maintain and update employee information in HR databases.
Record Keeping:
Maintain and organize personnel files for all employees.
General Administration:
Perform employment verifications and assist with reference checks.. Assist with processing DMV and Background Checks.
Compliance:
Assist in ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, including labor laws, FMLA, ERISA, and COBRA. Assist with required non-discrimination testing and the preparation of Form 5500.
Organizational Relationships Internal:
All school departments, faculty, and staff.
External:
Contractors, vendors, insurance providers, and healthcare administrators. Skills/Knowledge Required Associate's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Human Resources. Prior HR experience in benefits administration and record-keeping is desirable. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and G Suite. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with mature judgment. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks. Candidate must pass a nationwide criminal record check. Position Details This is a 12-month position. No major benefits included Expected hours: 16.0 per week
