JOB SUMMARY
The Workforce Coordinator is responsible for initiating and executing career and job training programs for industry and community partners to serve the regional workforce demands. Primary responsibilities include coordinating with instructors, vendors, and community/industry partners; confirming student enrollment; managing course supplies and contracts; handling financial and record-keeping duties; and assisting in program design and execution. The role involves extensive collaboration with industry partners, educational institutions, and community leaders to build, promote, and improve workforce development programs. Additionally, the job requires involvement in event planning, marketing, and staying up to date with industry trends.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICIATIONS
Associates degree from a regionally accredited institution. Minimum of four (4) years' experience must be within project management; program coordination; partner engagement; or business services; or a related field.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Project Management of Programs ( 60% ) Tasks relevant to recruiting, designing flyers, registering students, proctoring certification exams, and managing certifications. Organize graduation ceremonies, order supplies, draft instructor contracts. Manage program certifications and maintain communication with the state for accreditation requirements. Collaborate with partner agencies to secure tuition assistance. Manage or assist with state-conducted audits workforce programs as needed Coordination and Collaboration in Workforce Development (20%) Collaborate with industry, educational partners, community leaders, and college personnel to plan and execute Workforce Development programs. Organize reports for government agencies related to Workforce Development initiatives. Coordinate services through third-party training providers, such as Ed2Go and MedCerts. Manage records and billing processes for training programs. Oversee contracts with third-party providers. Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile payments with the Business Office. Manage registration software and online course payment links for self-paying students. Promoting Workforce Development Connections (10%) Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the college. Collaborate with business, industry, and government partners to promote programs. Monitor satisfaction regarding the programs offered. Identify future needs for workforce development. Support for Workforce Development Office (5%) Provide support by creating and organizing various types of reports and program records. Design program flyers and other correspondence. Process claims and handle purchasing requisitions.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(5%) Provide input to the director and make recommendations for program improvements. Attend conferences and meetings to stay updated with industry trends and pursue professional development. Analyze workforce development outcomes. Perform other duties as assigned to support department, division, and college.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail. Communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, community partners, and external stakeholders through verbal, written, and electronic formats. Plan, organize, and manage projects and activities to ensure timely completion, high-quality results, and alignment with departmental objectives. Maintain and analyze records and data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and support for continuous improvement and program evaluation. Utilize Microsoft Office applications and related software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) to create documents, manage data, prepare reports, and support daily operations. Provide excellent customer service that supports students, faculty, staff, and community partners in achieving institutional goals. Participate in committees and cross-departmental initiatives that contribute to strategic planning and policy development. Represent the college at community, industry, and professional events to promote programs and strengthen partnerships. WORK ACTIVITIES & EQUIPMENT
Perform tasks using personal computers and peripheral devices, including data entry, document preparation, and reporting. Operate and maintain office equipment such as photocopiers, printers, and scanners to support daily workflow.
JOB LOCATION
This is an on-site position with the primary workplace in the Advanced Technologies Building at Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee.
