Benefits Representative City of Garland - 3.2 Garland, TX Job Details $23.75 - $26.78 an hour 14 hours ago Qualifications Presentations for conferences or internal meetings Microsoft Office Customer support Full Job Description Summary Responsible for providing support for benefit programs and services, wellness resources, and retirement-related support to employees, retirees, and their dependents.
Pay Range:
$23.75 - $26.78/hr
Work Schedule:
Onsite, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned . Provides front desk HR support as the daily initial point of contact for walk-ins and phone calls. Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefit services, payroll deduction, and retirement information. Initiates new hire outreach and follows up on any outstanding deliverables Provide HR ticketing system support by taking on duties of air traffic control (ATC) to include, but are not limited to, directing tickets and phone calls to appropriate HR teams. Provides support for cyclical eligibility audit processes Assists with and provide backup support for the bill payment process.
Minimum Qualifications Education/ Experience:
High School Diploma or
G.E.D 1-2
years of related experience in a customer service capacity Intermediate experience with MS Office Ability to comfortably lead employee presentations and meetings Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications Education/ Experience:
2+ years of direct experience in benefits administration, human resources, or customer support preferred Advanced-level experience in MS Office Direct experience developing and/or leading group presentations, meetings, or events- both instructor-led and virtual
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Intermediate knowledge of business practices and procedures Attention to detail and ability to proactively seek opportunities for process improvements Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy Ability to present information in an organized, logical manner and ensure execution as expected for all core functions Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette skills Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment Ability to maintain confidentiality in regard to employees' personal health information Licenses and Certifications Valid Class C Texas driver's license Physical Requirements / Work Environment The incumbent works in a typical office environment, relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards.
