Job Description

The Human Resources Coordinator provides essential support to the Human Resources Department in the areas of recruitment, pre-employment processing, onboarding, recordkeeping, employee recognition, and administrative operations. Greet and assist visitors, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment Respond to internal and external inquiries and escalate to appropriate point of contact if assistance is needed Administers talent acquisition process to include managing applicant tracking system by opening requisitions, posting vacancies, processing applicants, ensuring alignment with Human Resources Information System (HRIS) system Coordinate all pre-employment activities, including scheduling orientation, pre-employment testing, and conduct comprehensive background and education checks activities in accordance with applicable laws and policies Utilize a high level of accuracy while building new employee records in HRIS, completing I-9 forms, and verifying work eligibility through E-Verify software Support initiatives to enhance internal communication channels and employee engagement by developing and distributing employee communications, reports, forms, and other documents Collaborate with department to ensure consistency in messaging, communication strategies, and to support employee growth and development Maintain accurate records and documentation related to employee activities and events Prepare reports and analyze data related to employee event metrics and trends Plan, organize and execute employee events and recognition programs to promote employee engagement and morale Oversee daily office operation by managing inventory of office supplies and submitting facility maintenance work orders Maintain human resource records and documents according to retention policies Discretion and integrity when handling confidential information Attendance is an essential function of the job This position has no supervisory authority Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma plus two (2) years related experience with emphasis on customer service, communication, and a work environment that is fast paced. Human Resources experience is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
general office practices and procedures and customer service principles.
Skill or ability to:
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, maintain records, read and understand instructions, analyze and interpret data, spell and use correct grammar, prioritize and schedule work to meet deadlines, communicate effectively orally and in writing, work independently in the absence of specific instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with County employees and the general public. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Maintain the ability to occasionally stand, walk, kneel, and bend during the shift; Reach, grip and use fine dexterity; Push and pull objects; Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees; Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds; Occasionally rotate upper trunk to the left or right while sitting or standing; place arms above, at or below shoulder height; Use of vision and depth perception; ability to communicate clearly.
