In person - Chester, VA About the Role ept, inc. is seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Human Resources Administrator to manage and support the day-to-day HR functions at our Chester, Virginia location. This is a full-time, 32-hour-per-week salaried position with responsibility for benefits administration, payroll, recruiting and onboarding, HRIS and employee records, and HR compliance. The ideal candidate is an HR professional who enjoys managing processes from start to finish, can work independently, and is comfortable serving as a resource for both employees and management. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality. Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits Administration Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and benefit vendors. Manage new-hire benefit enrollment, benefit changes, and annual open enrollment. Administer health, dental, vision, disability, and other employee benefit programs. Maintain accurate benefit records in the HRIS and conduct regular audits. Reconcile monthly benefit invoices with payroll records. Assist employees with benefit questions, claims issues, and benefit education. Coordinate benefit vendor relationships and assist with contract negotiations in partnership with the Director of Operations. Support compliance with applicable benefit regulations. Payroll Administration Process accurate and timely biweekly payroll and special payroll runs as needed. Maintain payroll information for new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and transfers. Manage payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments. Reconcile payroll reports and perform regular accuracy checks. Support payroll audits and compliance requirements. Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and tax documents. Maintain compliance with applicable wage and payroll regulations. Human Resources Administration Maintain the HRIS and employee database. Maintain and update the Employee Handbook and other HR documentation. Support recruiting activities, including managing applications and resumes and coordinating interviews and testing. Develop and maintain relationships with local high schools and colleges to support recruiting efforts. Prepare offer letters and coordinate new-hire onboarding and orientation. Conduct exit interviews and support employee offboarding. Maintain accurate and confidential employee and HR department records. Prepare and submit required employment and compliance reports. Communicate HR announcements, deadlines, policies, and processes to employees. Advise management on HR and payroll policies and procedural changes. Coordinate major HR activities, including annual open enrollment. Maintain knowledge of employment laws and government reporting requirements affecting HR and payroll. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources, HR administration, or a similar role. Minimum of 1 year of hands-on payroll processing experience . Knowledge of HR administration and payroll principles and practices. Familiarity with applicable employment laws and regulations. Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. High level of attention to detail and confidentiality. Ability to independently manage a variety of responsibilities and projects while collaborating effectively with employees and management. Education Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field , or equivalent relevant professional experience.
