Job Description
Position Summary:
The Seasonal HR Assistant - Royal Ridge Farm Operations will support Human Resources functions during the peak cherry harvest season. This role focuses on providing administrative and on-site support for a large, seasonal workforce, ensuring efficient onboarding, compliance, and employee support in a fast-paced agricultural environment. This position requires a strong in-person presence, assisting with new hire orientation, guiding seasonal employees, and supporting leadership across orchard operations. The HR Assistant will help ensure company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements are consistently followed while contributing to a positive and productive work environment during harvest.Duties and Responsibilities:
Seasonal HR & Administrative Support Serve as a point of contact for seasonal employees, answering questions related to hiring, policies, pay, housing (if applicable), and general employment matters. Assist with high-volume recruitment efforts, including job postings, applicant tracking, screening, and interview coordination. Facilitate onboarding for seasonal employees, including orientations and completion of required paperwork. Ensure accurate completion and retention of onboarding documentation, including I-9 verification and other compliance forms. Enter and maintain employee data in HRIS and support rehire processing for returning seasonal staff. Assist with timekeeping, attendance tracking, and workforce scheduling during peak operations. Support payroll processes, including responding to employee questions and helping resolve discrepancies. Process employment changes such as job assignments, pay adjustments, and terminations. Perform clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, copying, and document management. 2. On-Site Employee Support Maintain a visible presence in orchards or housing areas to support employees and supervisors. Assist with orientation and training of new seasonal employees. Provide direction and support to employees to ensure a smooth transition into their roles. Help address employee concerns promptly and escalate as needed. 3. Safety & Compliance Promote and support a safe work environment by reinforcing safety practices, PPE usage, and food safety standards (GMPs as applicable). Assist with reporting and documentation of safety incidents, injuries, or near misses. Help ensure compliance with labor laws and agricultural employment regulations. 4. Reporting & Documentation Maintain accurate and timely records of employee data, onboarding, attendance, and HR activities. Assist with preparation of reports such as headcount, turnover, and attendance during the season. Communicate delays, issues, or workforce concerns promptly to site leadership. 5. Continuous Improvement Support improvements to seasonal HR processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience. Encourage positive engagement and contribute to a team-oriented harvest environment. Secondary Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned to support HR and seasonal operations.
