Job Description
Gateway Management Company is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead key people initiatives and serve as a strategic partner to operational leaders across our growing organization. This role is ideal for an HR professional with strong employee relations, HR Business Partner, or HR Generalist experience who enjoys coaching leaders, resolving workplace issues, and driving positive employment practices. The HR Manager will oversee the company's HR operations, including employee relations, compliance, performance management, payroll, benefits, and talent acquisition. While Payroll, Benefits, and Recruiting are supported by dedicated team members, this position will provide leadership, guidance, and oversight for those functions while ensuring a seamless employee experience. Essential Responsibilities Serve as a trusted HR advisor and business partner to managers and executive leadership. Lead employee relations efforts, including investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, performance management, and policy interpretation. Coach managers on employee performance, accountability, communication, and leadership development. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies. Manage accommodation requests, leave administration, and other sensitive employee matters. Partner with leadership to improve employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness. Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and recruiting functions through a team of HR professionals and specialists. Collaborate with the Payroll, Benefits, and Recruiting teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and service excellence. Analyze workforce trends and recommend solutions to support business objectives. Support succession planning, workforce planning, and talent development initiatives. Assist with policy development, HR training programs, and strategic HR projects. Promote a positive workplace culture that balances employee support with business needs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience. Previous experience in an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, HR Manager, or Employee Relations-focused role required. Strong employee relations experience, including conducting investigations and advising managers on complex personnel matters. Working knowledge of employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices. Experience overseeing or partnering closely with payroll, benefits, and talent acquisition functions. Strong communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills. Ability to influence and build credibility with leaders at all levels of the organization. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred. What Makes Someone Successful in This Role?
