This position plays a key role in supporting company growth, workforce development, employee relations, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. The HR Manager will oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee development, policies and procedures, benefits administration, performance management, and workforce retention initiatives while helping maintain a professional, accountable, and compliant work environment. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, professional, detail-oriented, and capable of managing HR operations in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Human Resources Administration Manage daily HR operations and employee support functions. Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR records. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies. Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information. Track employee attendance, PTO, certifications, licenses, and required employment documentation. Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies and procedures. Assist leadership with disciplinary actions, written warnings, investigations, and performance improvement plans. Support consistent enforcement of company policies and employee handbook standards. Assist employees with benefits enrollment, updates, and general benefits support. Coordinate benefits documentation with payroll and insurance providers. Support leadership with employee evaluations and performance review processes. Assist with documentation related to employee performance concerns and improvement plans. Recruitment & Staffing Coordinate recruiting activities including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviews, and hiring processes. Assist leadership with staffing plans and workforce needs. Coordinate background checks, employment verification, and pre-employment screenings. Support hiring efforts for office staff, field employees, and leadership positions. Develop relationships with workforce partners, trade schools, and community organizations to support recruiting efforts. Onboarding & Offboarding Manage the onboarding process for all new employees. Prepare onboarding documentation, policies, and employment forms. Coordinate new hire orientation, safety training, and introduction to company procedures. Ensure all required employment and compliance documents are completed accurately and timely. Coordinate employee separation and termination processes. Conduct exit interviews and collect company equipment, uniforms, and access credentials. Ensure proper communication with payroll, IT, and leadership regarding employee departures. Maintain accurate offboarding documentation and records. Training & Development Coordinate employee training programs, orientations, and professional development initiatives. Track required certifications, safety training, continuing education, and compliance-related training. Support employee growth, leadership development, and career advancement opportunities. Help to create an apprenticeship program for the company. Assist with administration and coordination of apprenticeship and workforce development programs. Coordinate communication with apprenticeship partners, schools, and training providers. Track apprentice progress, training hours, certifications, and development milestones. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience preferred. Experience with employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and HR compliance required. Skills and Competencies Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Knowledge of HR compliance and employment practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HR systems. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Pay:
$68,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
