Full Job Description Overview:

Responsibilities:
Works with assigned location's leadership to ensure the consistent interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures. Provides guidance and advice to managers and employees, addressing issues that pertain to employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, training, compensation/classification, benefits, leave of absences, and other areas of Human Resources. Coaches leaders and employees at all levels on a variety of topics such as management skills, conflict resolution and communications. Prepares and delivers training and presentations related to HR policies/procedures. Prepares and provides various workforce reports/metrics to leadership as requested, utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Banner HR/Payroll system. Makes initial assessments of all employee relations matters, provides solutions to basic issues, and refers complex issues to Employee Relations. Proactively identifies, collaborates, and facilitates the equitable resolution of job‐related complaints and concerns as directed by Employee Relations. In collaboration with Employee Relations, provides direction and support to management regarding interpretation of policies and procedures, as well as partners with employees to provide education and advice related to the Fair and Just policy, disciplinary guidelines, and any additional resources as applicable. Assists management with the preparation of disciplinary documents for verbal, written warnings and final written warnings. Reviews with Employee Relations, all terminations and suspensions. Ensures receipt of fully executed actions including written warnings, and other correspondence. Scans documents to electronic personnel file, and records as appropriate in the Banner HR/Payroll system. Assists in managing the performance evaluation program to include assisting supervisors with the process and supporting supervisors with compliance; tracking form submissions, and recording as appropriate in the Banner HR/Payroll system. Maintains confidentiality and ensures decisions are ethical and align with the business and HR mission, vision and values. Serves as a trusted advisor to leadership and staff. Keeps supervisor up-to-date on topics/areas of improvement and collaborates with other HR areas to provide solutions that will benefit the entire enterprise. Maintains current knowledge, and applies general understanding of relevant State and Federal laws, legal rulings and regulations that affect the daily work associated with HR management. Travels to various locations to attend meetings and training. Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards Regular and prompt attendance Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required Related duties as assigned
Additional Information:
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in human resources, or a related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and 2 years of human resources generalist experience or 2 years of experience in two or more HR areas (compensation, benefits, employee relations, recruiting, etc..). Experience as a HR Business Partner and experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
