Job Description
Human Resources Director Summary The Human Resources Director will be responsible for overseeing all human resources functions and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. This role will involve managing employee relations, recruitment, performance management, training, and development, as well as maintaining and updating company policies to meet legal requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of creative thinking, analytical skills, and strong leadership capabilities. Dark Horse is a multi-state manufacturing and retail organization servicing the Arkansas, Kentucky, and Missouri markets while housing some of the nation's largest cannabis brands such as; Big Pete's Treats, The Clear, Cannadips, Keef, etc. Dark Horse brings years of cannabis extraction and infusion expertise combined with pharmaceutical-grade technology, equipment, and proprietary processes producing the cleanest medicinal cannabis concentrated products. Our facilities are some of the first cGMP-certified facilities specifically designed for cannabis extraction and infusion. Role:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screenings, interviews, and onboarding new hires.Employee Relations:
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts in a timely and effective manner.Policy Development and Updates:
Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal laws.Training and Development:
Coordinate and conduct training programs to ensure employees are knowledgeable about company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.Performance Management:
Assist in the development and implementation of performance evaluation programs, providing guidance to managers and employees.Benefits Administration:
Oversee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.Compliance Monitoring and Risk Management:
Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations governing the cannabis industry.Audits and Inspections:
Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits and inspections, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities, incident reports, and corrective actions.Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in human resources management roles. Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and compliance regulations, particularly those related to the cannabis industry. Proven experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
