Job Description:
Ultimate Staffing is partnering with a manufacturing company out of Commerce, CA. They are looking to hire a Solo HR Manager to join their team. This role is paying between $80k-$100k a year. The Human Resources Manager serves as the sole HR professional for the organization, responsible for managing all HR functions, including recruitment, payroll administration, employee relations, compliance, and HR operations. This role requires a hands-on leader with experience in the manufacturing industry who can balance both strategic initiatives and day-to-day HR execution. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Manage full-cycle recruiting for all positions (hourly, skilled trades, and salaried roles) Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements and sourcing strategies Develop and maintain candidate pipelines for high-turnover and hard-to-fill manufacturing roles Coordinate interviews, extend offers, and oversee onboarding processes Ensure a positive candidate experience and employer branding Payroll & HR Administration Process and manage payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and communication Maintain HRIS data integrity and employee records Track and manage timekeeping systems, PTO, and attendance Prepare HR reports and metrics as needed Employee Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations Provide guidance to managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations Foster a positive workplace culture aligned with company values Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures Support employee engagement initiatives and retention strategies Compliance & Policy Management Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, OSHA, EEOC, ADA) Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures Support safety programs in partnership with operations leadership Conduct training on HR-related topics including harassment prevention and workplace conduct Manufacturing HR Support Understand and support the unique needs of a manufacturing workforce, including shift operations, attendance tracking, and labor challenges Partner with plant leadership on workforce planning and productivity initiatives Assist with safety, workers' compensation, and return-to-work programs Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including standalone or generalist roles Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required Strong knowledge of payroll processing and employment law compliance Proven experience in employee relations and conflict resolution Ability to manage multiple priorities independently Preferred Qualifications HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or
SHRM-CP/SCP
