The Opportunity:
(Focus on the role's main goals and impact) We are seeking a skilled Community HR Manager to serve as a vital link between our Corporate HR and our community-based Business Office Managers (BOMs). In this impactful role, you will champion a positive employee culture, lead employee relations investigations, and ensure compliance with federal and California employment laws across our communities. If you are a collaborative HR professional who excels at coaching and driving cultural initiatives, we want you on our team.
What You'll Do:
(Focus on what the incumbent will do on a regular basis)
Partner & Coach:
Guide and support community BOMs and department leaders on day-to-day HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and policy interpretation.
Provide Hands-on Support:
Actively support community BOMs with tactical HR tasks during peak periods or when additional bandwidth is needed to ensure seamless operations.
Lead Employee Relations:
Serve as the primary, trusted resource for workplace investigations and conflict resolution, escalating sensitive cases to the Senior Director of HR when necessary.
Ensure Compliance:
Monitor adherence to federal and California employment laws, wage and hour regulations, and internal company policies.
Drive Talent Acquisition:
Support community hiring efforts by guiding BOMs through job postings, candidate selection, and effective onboarding experiences.
Support HR Initiatives:
Assist in developing and rolling out company-wide HR programs, handbook updates, and cultural initiatives designed to boost employee retention and engagement. Minimum Qualifications (Focus on experience that will show candidate possesses KSAs) Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience. Experience supporting multi-site operations within senior living, healthcare, or hospitality industries is a major plus. Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or
SHRM-SCP
) is strongly preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of federal and California employment laws and wage & hour regulations. Solid experience with HRIS systems (Paycom experience preferred) and Google Applications. Strong emotional intelligence with a proven ability to manage sensitive employee relations with discretion; Resilience to handle high-pressure, emotionally challenging situations.
