Position SummaryThe Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic and operational partner to business leaders, providing guidance and support in all areas of human resources, including employee relations, talent management, performance development, organizational design, and workforce planning. This role acts as a trusted advisor, aligning HR strategies with business objectives to drive engagement, retention, and overall company success. HR Business Partner role offers an exciting opportunity for growth for an HR professional who thrives on ownership and impact. The role is heavily centered on employee relations, conducting investigations, and providing strategic guidance to leaders. We are looking for someone who is self-driven, disciplined, and able to quickly adapt and pivot as business needs evolve. Strong planning and organizational development capabilities are essential for success in this role. The role requires periodic travel to different sites in and around Sacramento area to provide on-site HR guidance, support leaders, and address employee-related matters. Experience in retail industry is a strong plus. OverviewFocuses on delivering day-to-day HR partnership and execution for assigned client groups, with guidance from HR leadershipPerforms core HRBP responsibilities across employee relations, performance management, and talent partnership, while building proficiency and consistencyTypically supports a defined scope (district/region/function) and escalates higher risk matters as neededResponsibilities and Duties Business Partnership & StrategyCollaborate with department leaders to understand business objectives and align HR initiatives with operational goalServe as a consultant to management on people-related issues, providing data-driven recommendations and practical HR solutionsPartner with leadership to assess organizational needs and support change management initiatives Employee Relations & EngagementProvide coaching and guidance to managers and employees regarding performance, conflict resolution, and company policy interpretationConduct thorough and objective investigations of employee relations concernsSupport programs that enhance employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture Performance Management & DevelopmentPartner with managers to implement effective performance review and feedback processesIdentify skill gaps and coordinate training and development initiatives with the HR Director and Learning & Development teamSupport leadership development and succession planning effort Talent Acquisition & Workforce PlanningCollaborate with the Recruiting team to forecast staffing needs and develop hiring strategiesParticipate in interviews for key positions and ensure a positive candidate experienceSupport workforce planning efforts, including organizational restructuring and headcount management Compensation & HR OperationsPartner with HR leadership to ensure pay practices are equitable and aligned with company compensation philosophyMaintain accuracy of employee data in the HRIS and support payroll, benefits, and compliance processesMonitor HR metrics such as turnover, retention, and engagement to identify trends and recommend improvements Collaboration & CommunicationAct as a liaison between employees and management to foster transparent communicationSupport cross-departmental projects and company initiatives that promote an inclusive and collaborative workplace cultureMaintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalismEducation and Work Experience Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field requiredTypically, 3+ years of progressive HR experience (HR Generalist/Coordinator background), building toward HRBP scopeSkill Set Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence at all levelsExcellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skillsHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion with confidential informationProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred) Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
