Role Purpose
The Planning Manager supports daily station and network performance by analyzing operational data, identifying trends, and delivering actionable insights. This role focuses on improving on-time performance, reducing delays, and enhancing overall operational efficiency through data mining, reporting, and performance tracking. The position requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
What you will be doing
Conduct data mining and operational research related to flight performance, delays, turn times, and resource utilization
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time departures, ground handling efficiency, and staffing performance
Monitor daily operations and provide real-time and post-operational reporting to leadership
Identify root causes of delays and operational disruptions, providing data-driven recommendations for improvement
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance scorecards for station and network leadership
Prepare clear, accurate, and timely reports and presentations for operational briefings
Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling) and PowerPoint to support analysis and communication
Ensure data integrity and consistency across operational reporting systems
Communicate findings effectively with cross-functional teams including ramp, customer service, and leadership
Manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-pressure environment while meeting strict deadlinesHas the duty to suggest any improvements to working practice especially those relating to safety and security
Operate motorized equipment
Frequent bending, stretching, push/pulling, stacking and kneeling in small, confined locations
Performs other duties as assigned

What we are looking for:
- Experience in airline or airport operations is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of operational KPIs such as on-time performance, turn performance, and delay codes
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven ability in data analytics, performance tracking, and reporting
- Strong research and data mining skills with attention to operational detail
- Ability to make sound decisions based on data analysis
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present data clearly to operational teams and leadership
- Proactive approach with a strong sense of urgency and initiative
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Possess and maintain a valid US drivers license with a clean driving record
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing
Education
Bachelors and/or 4+ years of experience in airline operations as a leader
Requirements
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word
Previous experience with workforce management, KPI analysis and planning tools like GS Planning, SITA, Polaris
