Harry's of America, LLC is based in Jacksonville, FL and operates polished-casual restaurants throughout north and central Florida. We are known for delivering exceptional hospitality, high-quality guest experiences, and a commitment to Team Member success. We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Human Resources Director to lead talent acquisition, policy development, and internal growth initiatives across our locations.
POSITION SUMMARY
The HR director is the driving force behind our leadership pipeline and organizational culture. You will work closely with executive leadership to recruit top-tier restaurant managers, formalize company policy, and build robust training platforms. A primary focus of this role is to foster internal talent, creating a clear pathway for high-performing hourly Team Members to transition into salaried management roles.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
1. Management Recruitment & Selection Lead the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding processes for Team Members, Restaurant Managers, Kitchen Managers and General Managers. Source, vet, and interview hospitality leaders who align with our brand standards and company culture. Partner with store leadership to identify staffing gaps and proactively build a talent pipeline. Standardize the interview and onboarding processes to ensure an exceptional candidate experience. Travel to restaurant locations, when necessary, to facilitate staffing and hiring. 2. Policy & Procedure Development Collaborate with Home Office leadership to maintain and update comprehensive HR policies, procedures, and Team Member handbooks. Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal labor laws
  • including wage and hour regulations, health standards, and safety requirements.
Guide restaurant leadership as they navigate complex employee relation matters. 3. Training Platforms and Material Management Develop, organize, and manage modern training materials, manuals, and digital learning platforms for hourly and salaried Team Members. Help create and maintain ongoing training materials and practices to support compliance, best practices, and continued education. Travel to restaurant locations to present training classes, seminars, and Q&A sessions. 4. Leadership Pipeline & Team Member Development Create and execute a structured 'Hourly-to-Manager development program. Identify high-potential hourly Team Members and build customized development paths to prepare them for salaried management roles. Mentor and track the progress of internal candidates, ensuring a steady, loyal, and skilled internal leadership pipeline. 4. Other Responsibilities Special projects and duties assigned by executive leadership. Assist with new store openings and mass onboardings. Assist with the administration of Team Member benefits, including insurance, paid time off, FMLA, disability, worker's compensation, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive HR management experience within the hospitality sector, preferrably with organizations of 500+ employees. Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, or Business Administration is preferred. HR certification (SHRM-CP, SPHR) is also desirable. Skills
  • Expert knowledge of hospitality labor laws, talent acquisition strategies, and instructional design for training materials. Attributes
