Location Statesboro Campus - Statesboro, GA Department Information Office of Human Resources Job Summary The HR Manager - Employee Relations provides expertise and guidance to help ensure a positive work environment, foster effective communication and address employee performance concerns. Responsibilities Provides advice and counsel to employees, managers, and supervisors regarding HR practices, policy, disciplinary actions, performance management and employment laws Provide support and guidance to managers on all involuntary terminations, including risk assessment, process and/or practice recommendations, and participation in separation meetings Facilitates communication between employees, supervisors, and department heads to settle work-related conflicts Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, and harassment allegations; conducts investigations of employment-related issues at the direction of senior leadership Reviews involuntary terminations in accordance with policies to ensure consistency and lawful practices. Works with legal counsel to ensure actions align with policies and laws. Tracks and trends HR metrics around turnover and makes recommendations on how to address the issues Partners with Title IX Coordinator to investigate/assist with investigations as requested and coordinate appropriate hearings Uses surveys, interviews, and other studies to conduct research regarding human resource policies, and other employment issues. After analyzing the information, makes recommendations on changes Researches and explains laws and legal affairs concerning employment to managers, supervisors, and employees Advises and trains managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor and employee concerns, developing further training as needed Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree OR Seven (7) or more years of related work experience with PHR or SHRM-CP Certification Required Experience Four (4) or more years of professional human resources experience, including two years in employee relations OR it's equivalent through training, education, and other experience Preferred Qualifications Additional Preferred Qualifications PHR or SHRM-CP certification Preferred Educational Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field Preferred Experience Progressive experience in Employee Relations Experience in Higher Education Proposed Salary $50,173 - $58,050 This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
