We are looking for individuals who can embrace our mission to purposely brighten and enrich the lives of those we serve with HEART; Hospitality, Excellence, Appreciation, Respect & Teamwork. The Business Office Manager oversees the Accounting and Human Resources functions as well as handles recruitment, retention, new hire orientation, benefits administration, payroll, and general accounting duties. This position reports to the Executive Director and may be required to supervise other staff positions.

Job DescriptionHuman Resources Manager II is responsible for overseeing the Human Resources function at a community. This position handles issues such as, but not limited to, recruiting, new hire orientation, benefits administration, payroll and maintains files. This position reports to the Executive Director and may be required to supervise other staff positions
Essential Functions:
  • Maintain personnel files.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and administer benefits.
  • Assist in answering employee questions or concerns.
  • Ensure that payroll is accurately prepared and reported to the corporate office at the designated time.
  • Process/file workers compensation claims.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of the office, the records, and restricted information.
  • Understand roll in the safety and disaster plan.
  • Recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Oversee performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Approve and monitor employee counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
  • Suggest and implement training opportunities.
  • Participate in the Manager On-Duty program.
  • Attend various community events.
  • Attend all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
  • Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of Senior Lifestyle Corporation.
 Perform other duties as assigned. 
QualificationsQualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
Level of Formal Education:
An Associate's Degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Area of Study:
Human Resources, Psychology or Business preferred. 
Years of Experience:
2+ years

Acceptable fluency in English in order to perform job duties and speak, read, write, and communicate with all others.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees and outside contacts.
