Major Gifts, School of Medicine, Senior Associate Director Tulane University - 4.0 New Orleans, LA Job Details Full-time 14 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description The Senior Associate Director for Major Gifts, School of Medicine is a professional fund-raising position responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a targeted portfolio of major gift prospects with an emphasis on the School of Medicine's strategic priorities and objectives. The Senior Associate Director for Major Gifts will work closely with School leadership such as the SOM Dean, the SOM Executive Faculty and departmental section chiefs. The position will also work closely with other departments within the Office of Development including Gift Planning, Stewardship, Corporate & Foundation Relations, and Development Services as well as Alumni Affairs and other external affairs departments throughout the School of Medicine and Tulane University.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor's degree. 2. 3 years direct fund-raising or related experience in the solicitation and closing of major and multi-year annual gifts in a research university environment preferred. Transferable, related experience such as marketing, admissions, public relations, alumni relations, trust officer, or sales may be considered.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY
1. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 2. Excellent organization skills, including the ability to manage multiple demands and/or projects simultaneously. 3. Ability to travel substantially, as well as attend events on evenings and weekends.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of various software systems, such as Word and Access preferred Creates, manages and advances effective relationships with assigned prospects toward the goal of appropriate solicitation. Content expert for assigned liaison Departments and Section. Maintains a monthly level of actual or facilitated appointments or significant prospect moves. Proactively identifies and assesses new University prospects as potential donors and/or volunteer leaders Maintains knowledge of funding priorities and goals for the School of Medicine. Collaborates with other departments in the School of Medicine unit and central Development to maximize prospect advancement.
