Non-union, Twelve-month, Full Time 1.0 FTE, Individual Contract Position Overview The Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic partner to the Superintendent, providing visionary leadership for the district's comprehensive human capital management systems. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of excellence, equity, and accountability. The Director is responsible for the full lifecycle of human resources from strategic talent acquisition and workforce planning to labor relations, compliance, and professional growth ensuring that all HR initiatives are aligned with the district's mission to provide a world-class education to every student. Key Performance Responsibilities Operating under the Massachusetts Educator Evaluation Framework and state regulatory mandates, the Director of Human Resources will:Strategic Human Capital Management:
Design and execute evidence-based recruitment and retention strategies aimed at cultivating a highly qualified, diverse, and representative workforce. Oversee the entire lifecycle, including onboarding, competitive compensation analysis, and benefits administration.Labor & Employee Relations:
Act as the primary lead in labor relations, contract interpretation, and grievance administration. Partner with the Superintendent to navigate complex negotiations and resolve employee relations issues with a focus on restorative practices and district stability.
Regulatory Compliance & Policy Stewardship:
Ensure district-wide adherence to state and federal employment laws, including but not limited to Title IX, FMLA, ADA, and DESE educator licensure requirements. Serve as the district's Title IX Coordinator and collaborate with the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to ensure non-discrimination policies are embedded into district practice.Instructional Leadership Support:
Collaborate with the leadership team to oversee the implementation of the DESE Model System for Educator Evaluation. Provide high-level guidance to administrators regarding performance management, corrective action, and pedagogical growth.Organizational Development:
Partner with district leadership to develop HR policies that reflect current educational trends and organizational best practices. Utilize workforce analytics to inform strategic decision-making and long-term organizational stability.- Performs other duties as assigned by the

In addition Milton offers a developmental preschool, before and after school programs and summer school programs. All six of the district's buildings have been rebuilt or updated to state-of-the-art facilities. - Massachusetts DESE licensure as a School Superintendent or Supervisor/Director preferred; deep operational knowledge of educator licensure regulations preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably within a K-12 public education setting. Competencies

Demonstrated expertise in Massachusetts General Laws, state/federal labor regulations, and school district accountability standards.Conflict Resolution:
Proven ability to navigate sensitive personnel matters with high emotional intelligence, discretion, and a solution-oriented mindset.Communication:
Exceptional ability to articulate complex HR policies to diverse stakeholders, including the School Committee, union representatives, staff, and community members.
