Job Description

Human Resource Manager Summary:
Oversee hands-on Human Resource activities of a stable, 50-employee company. Hybrid position (2 days per week in-office) in thriving Detroit business district headquarters.
Core Responsibilities:
Benefits & Vendor Management:
Oversee annual enrollments and benefits administration in partnership with brokers; act as the primary contact for 401(k) and third-party vendors.
Payroll & HRIS Administration:
Execute accurate biweekly payroll processing using industry-leading HRIS software.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
Partner with managers to drive the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening, background checks, and new hire orientation.
Employee Relations & Compliance:
Manage the full employee lifecycle, including performance improvement plans (PIPs), policy updates, and compliance, consulting with legal counsel on complex separations.
Culture & Retention:
Develop employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events to foster a positive workplace culture.
Compliance & Development:
Monitor credentialing and continuing education, while serving as the liaison between staff and leadership on HR matters.
Position Support:
  • The position is supported by a Benefits broker team, Labor Law Attorney, Peer support thru SHRM, Flex spending Third Party Administrator, Payroll Company support, 401K Plan Investment Advisor Team and Actuary, Internal support of senior leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Human Resources
  • Knowledge of laws and government regulations
