Position Overview:
The Accounting and Human Resource Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing financial operations, human resources functions, and certain operational activities to ensure organizational efficiency and compliance. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while fostering collaboration across departments. The human resources aspect will be very minimal and will not require much attention. The main role and primary focus is accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Duties:
Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes. Manage Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries. Build and maintain strong relationships with customer and supplier accounting departments. Track and monitor budgets and expenses to ensure financial accuracy. Oversee and manage wire transfers, ACH transactions, and overall banking activities. Manage new customer/vendor setup, approve for credit insurance and maintain accurate records. Perform inventory reconciliation and ensure timely invoicing. Manage credit card reconciliations and support financial audits. Coordinate year-end tax preparation and ensure compliance with regulations.
Human Resources Duties:
Lead hiring processes, including interviews and candidate selection. Complete new hire paperwork and conduct background checks. Administer 401(k) changes and updates and manage insurance options/renewals. Process weekly payroll using QuickBooks and manage/track time off requests. Maintain and update company policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Operational Duties:
Manage freight operations and negotiate with freight brokers for cost efficiency. Monitor DOT inspections and ensure compliance with transportation regulations. Prepare and deliver financial reporting and analysis for strategic decision-making. Provide strategic leadership, manage teams, and foster cross-departmental collaboration. Utilize QuickBooks and demonstrate advanced MS Excel proficiency for data analysis and reporting. Apply strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills to operational challenges. Supply various reports to support the overall team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounting. Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data tracking, data analysis). Experienced with HR compliance, payroll processing, and benefits administration. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Skills & Competencies:
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. High level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality. Ability to support Executive leadership to execute forecasting/business planning. Proven experience in financial and accounting management. The HR portion of the job can be taught but must be very strong in accounting. Negotiation and vendor management skills.
Pay:
$76,260.51 - $91,840.61 per year
