POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development. This role partners closely with the EHS function to support a strong safety culture, ensuring alignment between people practices and workplace safety initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Human Resources Responsibilities :
Lead and administer all HR functions, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, retention, performance, relations, and separations. Develop and administer personnel policies, procedures, job classifications, and compensation structures. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; train management and supervision on HR compliance requirements. Ensure all hiring and employment practices comply with relevant laws and regulations. Administer and manage FMLA and ADA processes, including leave administration, accommodations, documentation, and manager guidance. Manage personnel records, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and proper retention. Develop and administer the organizational performance management process. Conduct training needs assessments and implement employee development and compliance training programs. Prepare HR reports, metrics, and budget forecasts for leadership. Serve as the point of contact for employee concerns, conflicts, or issues. Help guide management and supervisors on conflict resolution. Oversee the performance review process and employee development. Assist managers in setting clear performance expectations and provide support for performance improvement. Manage benefits administration and compensation strategy. Develop and promote employee engagement, morale, and a positive workplace culture. Create and implement employee retention strategies. Foster an inclusive workplace environment.
Safety Partnership Responsibilities:
Works in close collaboration with the EHS Coordinator, who maintains primary responsibility for safety programs and regulatory compliance. Ensure alignment between HR policies and safety/compliance requirements. Coordinate workers compensation administration and return-to-work in collaboration with EHS. Assist with communication and reinforcement of safety initiatives and training programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or a related HR Certification (SHRM, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP). Five years' experience in human resources.
PREFERRED SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
Manufacturing Experience. HR Certification
PHR, SHRM, SPHR, SHRM-SCP.
Master's degree in a related field. Strong budgeting and financial analysis skills. Exposure to workplace safety programs or EHS environments preferred.
Work Environment:
Work is performed mostly in a controlled atmosphere. Some exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures—for short periods of time is possible. This employee will be required to demonstrate continued knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
Physical Demands:
Standing 20%, sitting, 60%, walking 20%. This position requires occasional physical effort including lifting, pushing and pulling material weighing up to 20 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk and hear.
