Human Resources Manager Liberty Waste Solutions - 2.7 Raleigh, NC Job Details $110,000 - $125,000 a year 2 hours ago Benefits 401(k) Qualifications Managing human resources teams Team leadership Payroll record maintenance Full Job Description Liberty Waste Solutions is seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead the day-to-day HR function and manage our HR team supporting a fast-paced, multi-location workforce. This position will oversee employee relations, HR compliance, recruiting and onboarding, benefits, 401(k) administration, weekly payroll, leave administration, workers' compensation support, HRIS administration, and performance management. The HR Manager will work closely with operational and executive leadership and serve as a key partner to the Safety and Finance teams. The ideal candidate is a strong HR leader who is comfortable managing a team while still being hands-on and involved with employees and managers throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and develop the HR team, including setting priorities, delegating responsibilities, and ensuring accountability. Serve as the primary HR partner to managers and leadership across multiple locations. Oversee employee relations, including investigations, performance management, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and terminations. O wn and oversee company-wide HR compliance, ensuring policies and practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. Manage
FMLA, ADA
accommodations, unemployment claims, required HR reporting, recordkeeping, and other employment compliance matters. Oversee recruiting, hiring, and onboarding for hourly and salaried positions. Oversee the Company's weekly payroll process, including payroll audits, timecard compliance, pay changes, deductions, and resolution of payroll issues. Oversee employee benefits administration and serve as the primary HR contact for brokers, carriers, and vendors. Serve as the Company's 401(k) Plan Administrator, overseeing eligibility, contributions, plan administration, compliance testing, audits, and required filings in partnership with plan vendors. Partner with the Safety Department in managing workers' compensation claims, including employee communication, claim documentation, leave coordination, work restrictions, light duty, and return-to-work. Maintain accurate employee information and employment changes within the Company's HRIS. Partner with Operations, Safety, and Finance on workforce matters, labor reporting, employee issues, and organizational needs. Support employee engagement, retention, compensation, promotions, organizational changes, and workforce planning. Support acquisitions, integrations, and other Company growth initiatives. Maintain a visible HR presence across Company locations and build strong relationships with employees and managers. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience. Previous experience managing or leading an HR team required. Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance. Experience supporting a multi-location and/or multi-state workforce strongly preferred. Experience overseeing payroll required; weekly payroll experience preferred. Experience with 401(k), benefits, and leave administration preferred. Experience handling employee relations, investigations, corrective actions, and terminations. Experience partnering with Safety or Risk Management on workers' compensation claims preferred. HRIS/payroll system experience required; ADP experience is a plus. Experience in waste management, transportation, logistics, construction, manufacturing, or another field-based industry is a plus. This person should be comfortable working with everyone from frontline employees to executive leadership, handling difficult employee situations, managing competing priorities, and providing practical HR solutions in a fast-moving environment. The right person will take ownership of the HR function, build strong relationships throughout the Company, and ensure our people, payroll, benefits, and compliance processes continue to support the needs and growth of Liberty Waste Solutions.
