Job Description

Associate Director, Human Resources Start working to make a difference… Life Opportunities Unlimited (LOU) is a premium boutique human service agency that has served adults with developmental disabilities since 1995. We offer residential and day program services in Bergen County, New Jersey. Our unmatched community integrated services are driven by our committed team of professionals. LOU is located in Ridgewood with programs in
Northwest Bergen County:
Allendale, Fair Lawn, Glen Rock, Haledon, Midland Park, Ridgewood, Township of Washington, and Waldwick. All of our locations are approximately 15 minutes from Passaic & Rockland Counties. LOU's Residential and Day Programs are conveniently located nearby NJ Transit, Bus Routes and Train Stations.
Core Functions:
Oversee all aspects of the recruiting & onboarding processes, as well as HR records, as per company procedures and Federal/State credentialing regulations & ensure accuracy Facilitate proactive & positive relationships between employees and Life Opportunities Unlimited; mediate any employee relation issues
Responsibilities:
Draft/edit job descriptions Oversee prospective employee outreach Organize & attend career fair and recruitment events while positively representing LOU Schedule and conduct interviews Oversee completion of all pre-joining requirements Maintain personnel files after employee probationary period & monitor accuracy of creation of new employee records Employee benefit (incl. insurance) enrollment Assignment of employee workplace location and schedule Manage all aspects of employee evaluations Lead the disciplinary process, including investigations, documentation, and resolution of employee conduct issues Attend all company events and organization-provided training sessions as directed Oversee onboarding, migration from probationary status to permanent employee, and manage offboarding procedures Create and audit Human Resources policies, procedures, and documentation Manage/administer time and attendance policies Foster both a positive work environment and strong employee relations Actively manage HR Coordinator, Recruiter & Onboarding Specialist Complete ad hoc projects as necessary Conduct offboarding procedures Represent the agency in any and all unemployment, disability, workers compensation, etc. related matters Lead the department as it develops and grows This is not an exhaustive list of the responsibilities of this position. Qualifications:
BS/BA required or 5+ years of relevant experience Strong computer skills Successful administrative experience in a fast-paced environment Prior experience with complex calendar management Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Experience with Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, etc.)
