Job Description

Transcendia is a leader in custom engineered materials for critical product components in a wide range of markets and applications. The company provides deep material science expertise, outstanding customer service through broad geographic coverage and trusted product reliability.
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) reports to Corporate Human Resources and maintains a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Plant Manager. This position serves as the primary HR resource for Transcendia's Hebron facility, partnering closely with plant leadership to support business objectives through effective talent management, employee relations, leadership development, workforce planning, and HR compliance. The HRBP plays a key role in executing Transcendia's corporate and site-level initiatives by developing workforce capabilities, coaching leaders, fostering employee engagement, and ensuring HR programs, policies, and practices are administered consistently and effectively. This position is responsible for supporting a workforce of approximately 140-160 employees and balancing both strategic HR partnership and day-to-day HR operations to meet the needs of the business and its employees.
Essential Job Duties:
Partners directly with business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies, systems, and programs that support business objectives, workforce capability, and the strategic direction of the local business and Transcendia. Fosters a learning culture and prepares the workforce to meet evolving business and technological demands. Leads the development of managers and supervisors in areas of employment law, performance management, and professional development. Provides guidance to supervisors on issues of employee performance, development, or discipline. Monitors employee development and creates approaches to addressing talent gaps that may affect the business. Ensures that key employees have an opportunity to grow their skills through training, education, and work exposure. Leads full-cycle recruiting activities for exempt, non-exempt, and temporary positions, including sourcing, interviewing, selection, and new employee orientation. Ensures that Transcendia remains compliant with all governmental rules and regulations. Reports any concerns or issues to Corporate Human Resources. Serves as a member of the Transcendia Lead HR group. Participates in the creation and deployment of corporate initiatives. Performs HR administration including onboarding documentation, background screenings, I-9 compliance, HRIS transactions, recordkeeping, and employee support. Answers employee benefit questions, manages the open enrollment period, and drives Transcendia's wellness initiatives. Manages work-related injuries in conjunction with workers comp carrier. Manages FMLA, STD, and LTD claims in coordination with Transcendia's external administrators. Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; participates in preparation and maintaining of handbook on policies and procedures.
Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, resolving workplace issues, and partnering with business leaders and Corporate HR on complex employee situations. Experience in handling both strategic HR initiatives and transactional HR tasks. Ability to analyze workforce data and trends to identify opportunities and support business decision-making. Demonstrated ability to coach and influence leaders on employee relations, performance management, talent development, and workplace practices. Knowledge of state and local laws as it relates to FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, and other applicable regulations is required. Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and adhering to high ethical standards in HR practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence employees and leaders at all levels of the organization. Ability and willingness to perform both strategic and administrative HR responsibilities as business needs dictate. Experience utilizing HRIS and payroll systems to support employee lifecycle activities, reporting, and compliance requirements. Experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) is preferred. Experience in creating and delivering presentations for training and communications purposes. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum of 4 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations, performance management, recruiting, compliance, and leadership coaching. Experience supporting manufacturing, production, or other operational work environments preferred. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
