S_179384 Spherion is hiring a dynamic, experienced, and self-directed Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions for a 90+ employee organization in Weston, OH. Operating as a highly visible department of one, this role is responsible for balancing daily hands-on execution with long-term strategic workforce initiatives. Serving as the sole HR leader onsite, you will partner directly with executive leadership to cultivate a workplace culture rooted in respect, accountability, and continuous improvement. This is an essential role for a trusted advisor and practitioner who can manage everything from payroll oversight and compliance to recruitment and workforce planning.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Advisory:
Serve as the primary HR advisor to leadership, providing guidance on workforce planning, organizational development, and succession strategy.
Payroll & Benefits:
Manage the payroll process via Paychex and administer all group health, dental, vision, life, and 401(k) plans.
Employee Relations:
Champion a culture of respect and accountability, maintaining a regular presence on the production floor to build relationships and proactively address concerns.
Talent Management:
Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, interviewing, offer negotiation, and value-based onboarding.
Labor Relations:
Support union contract administration and assist in negotiations as needed.
Compliance:
Ensure adherence to DOL, FLSA, OSHA, EEOC, FMLA, and other federal/state regulations.
Performance & Development:
Coordinate annual performance evaluations and identify training initiatives to build workforce capability.
Working hours:
6:00 AM - 4:00
PM Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field. Direct experience with Paychex systems.
Education:
High School Experience:
7-10 years
Qualifications:
Experience in manufacturing or union environments. Minimum 7+ years of progressive HR experience. At least 3 years of payroll oversight or processing experience. Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance standards. Experience or comfortability operating independently.
