Job Description Our client, a privately held, growing organization is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead day-to-day HR operations and help strengthen the employee experience across a complex, multi-site environment. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Director will oversee two direct reports and support approximately 600 employees across 25 locations. This highly visible leadership role will implement scalable HR programs, advise business leaders, and drive continuous improvement across employee relations, onboarding, performance management, engagement, retention, compliance, and workforce planning.Compensation and Schedule Base salary:
$130,000-$160,000 Annual bonus: 10% Hybrid schedule: Three days onsite per week Comprehensive benefits packageResponsibilities:
Lead day-to-day HR operations, ensuring consistent, compliant, and effective service delivery across the organization. Manage, coach, and develop two direct reports. Own and enhance the employee onboarding experience to reinforce company culture, accelerate productivity, and increase engagement. Develop and implement scalable HR programs, tools, policies, and processes that support organizational growth. Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, retention, and organizational effectiveness. Guide managers through corrective actions, investigations, workplace accommodations, conflict resolution, and other sensitive employee matters. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across a multi-state and multi-location environment. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and recommend timely updates to policies, procedures, and practices. Maintain the employee handbook, HR policies, and compliance documentation. Partner with leadership to develop compensation, engagement, and retention strategies aligned with business objectives. Support organizational change initiatives and promote consistent, fair HR practices across departments and locations. Employee Engagement and Retention Establish and monitor key HR metrics and dashboards related to engagement, turnover, retention, and the overall employee experience. Analyze workforce data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and lead employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, recognition programs, career-development efforts, and culture-building activities. Partner with leaders to create and execute action plans based on engagement surveys, stay interviews, and exit-interview feedback. Develop targeted retention strategies for critical positions and high-performing employees. Recommend data-driven solutions that strengthen leadership effectiveness, employee satisfaction, and organizational performance.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required. Eight to twelve or more years of progressive human resources experience, including management- or director-level responsibility in a 500 to 1000 employee organization Demonstrated success leading HR initiatives across employee relations, performance management, engagement, retention, compliance, and HR operations. Experience supporting a growing, multi-site organization. Multi-state HR experience strongly preferred. Proven ability to advise senior leaders, navigate sensitive employee matters, and drive organizational change. Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws. Strong analytical skills with experience using HR metrics and workforce data to guide decisions. Excellent communication, judgment, leadership, and relationship-building skills. Active PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, orSHRM-SCP
