Job Description

All applications are still being considered.•The Employee Relations Manager reports directly to the Director of Human Resources and is directly responsible for managing employee relations, performance management, employee and supervisory training, employee engagement activities, and compliance with employment laws and university policies. This role provides strategic human resources guidance on complex employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, and grievances. Manages and conducts internal investigations and researches complaints of discrimination, harassment, grievances and other employment issues or conflicts. Additionally, the Employee Relations Manager serves as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for the Office of Human Resources. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field. Three (3) years of experience in employee relations or human resources management with demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and investigations. The ability to demonstrate progressive experience in managing the employee relations functions in a Human Resources Department. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required. PHR/SPHR or
SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources Management and Employee Relations. Knowledge of federal laws and state regulations affecting human resources management. Knowledge of and experience administering/managing human resources programs, policies and procedures to include EEO and Title IX. Ability to evaluate policies and procedures and to discern the need for change. Effective analytical and interviewing skills. Ability to develop and deliver training programs with effective presentation skills; work with attention to detail and accuracy. Must establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Discretion, confidentiality and exercise of good judgement is essential.
