Job Description
ABOUT THIS ROLE
The People & Culture Coordinator supports Rock Creek Church's people operations by maintaining accurate, well-communicated HR policies and procedures, administering staff benefits and payroll data in ADP, and coordinating the performance review and training processes that keep our team healthy and equipped. This is a part-time role that reports to the Executive Pastor of Operations and works closely with staff across every ministry department to ensure the administrative backbone of Rock Creek's HR function runs smoothly, accurately, and with care.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Policies & Procedures- Maintain, update, and clearly communicate church HR policies and the employee handbook
- Help ensure policies remain compliant with applicable federal, state, and local employment law
- Support consistent, fair application of policies and procedures across departments
- Draft and format HR documentation (policies, procedural guides, memos) in Rock Creek's established design system
- Assist in developing and refining onboarding and offboarding procedures Benefits & ADP Administration
- Serve as a primary point of contact for staff benefits enrollment, changes, and questions
- Administer benefits programs (health, dental, retirement, and similar) in coordination with vendors and carriers
- Maintain and update employee records in ADP, including new hires, terminations, and status changes
- Process payroll-related data entry and support accurate, on-time payroll processing
- Reconcile benefits invoices and assist with annual open enrollment Performance & Training
- Coordinate the staff performance review cycle, including scheduling, documentation, and follow-up
- Maintain training records and track completion of required trainings
- Assist in developing and delivering new hire orientation and ongoing staff training
- Support supervisors in documenting performance conversations and improvement plans
- Track certifications, background checks, and other compliance requirements
QUALIFICATIONS

- High level of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information
- Strong relational skills and a genuine heart for serving staff well Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in HR administration, benefits, or a related coordinator role
- Working knowledge of ADP or a similar HRIS/payroll platform preferred
- Familiarity with core employment law fundamentals (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and similar) preferred
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality Education
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent professional HR experience will be considered in place of a degree
