Job Description
Description Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a dynamic, growing business unit within Amazon.com. Since early 2006, AWS has provided companies of all sizes with an infrastructure platform in the cloud. Using AWS, companies can requisition compute power, storage, and other services
- gaining access to a global computing infrastructure that is the backbone of Amazon.
- Work with senior management to develop and implement HR plans and solutions.
- Contribute broadly to the West Region teams (West US, Canada, and LATAM), influencing beyond a local remit.
- Define HR goals that are based on business drivers and ensuring HR is always looking for underlying people issues to help solve business challenges.
- Earn trust as a partner to the Infrastructure leadership locally, Regional HR team and beyond.
- Partner with business on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment and development.
- Provide management coaching to front line managers and senior leaders.
- Review and analyze business metrics including data on retention and employee experience in order to recommend systemic improvements.
- Partner with the business to lead both annual and mid-year review processes which focus on performance management and talent development.
- Provide compensation support including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions and job re-leveling.
- Work with line managers and employees to address all types of employee relations issues, fairly representing all interests. Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field
- Experience partnering with business leaders in highly complex and dynamic business settings
- Knowledge of human resource theory, including employee relations, learning, and performance management
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience in managing and troublshooting network
- 8+ years of HR experience
- Experience delivering results by partnering with and influencing others
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment similar to a high-tech start-up
- Experience prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
- Experience working with and applying employment & labor laws throughout the United States and familiarity of Canadian and LATAM labor regulations Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a matrixed organization
- Experience in program and project management fundamentals
- Experience coaching and delivering messages related to performance to direct reports and support teams
- Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing operations environment
- Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
- Experience coordinating between technical teams, peers and business stakeholders
- Experience delivering results and generating transformational growth
- Experience leading complex programs with significant change impact across organizational boundaries
- Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent
- Experience working with global teams and diverse partners
- Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
- Knowledge of compensation/total rewards, talent management, performance management, compliance, and organization design and development
- Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature
- Experience in online retail operations or similar field
- Experience working with fast-moving, high-performance teams and driving innovative solutions tailored to unique business environments
- Experience using strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience presenting complex ideas in writing in the form of authoring white papers, proposals, or other formal strategy documents
- Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units
