Description

DETAILED DESCRIPTION AMPI

owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

Strategic:

Works with the corporate and division managers' leadership teams, anticipating opportunities to influence and lead change that will improve individual, team and business performance

Provides coaching to corporate and division managers' teams

Recommend effective team member engagement practices throughout the organization

Navigate organizational needs and employee relations through effective negotiation of the collective bargaining agreement. Interpret labor contract issues on day-to day topics.

Partner with division HR teams on human capital efforts and align with company-wide HR initiatives as appropriate.

Operational:

Training & Development

  • Facilitate and administer cooperative-specific training sessions that support business needs and foster legal compliance.
    Talent Acquisition
  • Lead recruiting and interviewing strategy and practices. Coach and consult on division staffing needs.
    Labor Relations
  • Partner with the corporate and division management teams to address employee and labor relations issues. Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and employee benefits.
    Onboarding
  • Implement employee onboarding program.
    Compliance
  • Ensure HR practices are legally compliant and within company practices.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

More than 10 years general HR experience, business management experience, or a combination of both

SPHR or

SHRM-SCP

designation preferred

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development or related area of study
