Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, leave, employee relations, performance support, and advising on company policies and practices.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory training, to include safety and new hire training.
DOT Compliance Experience:
Working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and DOT compliance requirements as they relate to workforce management, experience maintaining and auditing Driver Qualification (DQ) files, including licenses, medical certifications, and required documentation, familiarity with DOT drug and alcohol testing programs, including pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion testing administration, experience supporting DOT audits, compliance reviews, and recordkeeping requirements, ensuring documentation is accurate and audit-ready, knowledge of background checks, MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) reviews, and driver eligibility requirements. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Conducts or acquires background checks, drug screens, and employee eligibility verifications. Conducts new hire onboarding and employee recognition programs. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leaves, HR file compliance, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, recognition and morale, occupational health, and safety. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. At least three years of human resource experience preferred. SHRM-CP a plus.
