• Own the end-to-end payroll process — data entry, processing, and distribution — ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain payroll records and ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws
• Manage time and attendance systems, recommending improvements and updates as needed
• Serve as the go-to resource for employee benefits, acting as liaison between brokers, carriers, and staff
• Reconcile monthly benefits billing across all ministries
• Support onboarding and termination processes related to payroll and benefits
• Assist with FMLA, Paid Parental Leave, life insurance claims, and long-term disability filings
• Provide backup support to the Director of Human Resources and assist with the self-insured Workers' Compensation program What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in payroll and benefits administration
• Proficiency in Excel and Paylocity (required)
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
• Excellent attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, and organizational skills
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Valid Alabama Driver's License with proof of auto insurance
• Knowledge of Alabama Workers' Compensation law preferred Candidates selected for this position will be required to sign a Standard of Behavior statement as a condition of employment.
