JOB DESCRIPTION
The HR Generalist is a hands-on HR Partner responsible for independent performance of HR functions, working closely with management and employees. Responsibilities include recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, training, and ownership of the company's HR information systems (HRIS). The HR Generalist exercises discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance, including the interpretation and application of federal and Arizona employment laws, as well as industry standards such as AS9100 and ITAR. The position is execution-focused, emphasizing timely, accurate recordkeeping of HR activities across multiple systems, and partners with leadership to modernize, integrate, and continuously improve the HRIS environment so that employee data, payroll, benefits, training, and compliance records remain accurate, current, and audit-ready. Essential Job Functions Post job openings, coordinate interviews, and extend offers in partnership with hiring managers. Manage new-hire onboarding and orientation programs updating content as policies and requirements change.
  • Maintain timely and accurate employee records across all HR systems and oversee HR recordkeeping processes.
Lead employee training program. Work with functional managers to schedule, track, and document required training. Manage the performance review process and coach managers on timelines and documentation. Process biweekly payroll with accuracy and ensuring policy compliance. Assist with benefits enrollment and respond to employee inquiries, and coordinate with vendors. Maintain employee handbook and policy documents, ensuring that disciplinary and termination documentation is timely, accurate, and consistent. Complete routine HR compliance reporting (i.e. EEOC, Workers Compensation, Unemployment Claims, and other required reports). Assist managers with disciplinary actions and terminations ensuring fair, consistent, and well‑documented decisions. Track and update skills matrix, training hours, and other HR metrics. Serve as system owner and primary administrator for the HRIS and related HR platforms ensuring data integrity, appropriate access, and secure handling of employee information. Help evaluate, develop, and modernize existing HR systems
  • recommending and implementing practical upgrades or automation that save time and reduce errors in partnership with IT and leadership.
Build standard and ad-hoc HRIS reports and dashboards on headcount, turnover, training, compliance, and other HR metrics to support leadership decisions. Document HRIS workflows, write user guides, and train HR and managers on system updates and best practices. Performs other duties as assigned. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Timely completion and accuracy of Periodic Statutory Reporting (Payroll Taxes, Compliance Reports) Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of HR experience, including recruiting and HRIS or payroll exposure Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong interpersonal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Preferred Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field HR certification (SHRM‑CP, PHR, or similar) Experience with AS9100 and/or ITAR Work Environment and Physical Requirements Primarily office‑based within a manufacturing facility, with regular movement through production areas Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and operate standard office equipment May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds (e.
