September, 2026 Job Overview Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, The Human Resources (HR) Generalist will help align HR practices with the organization's mission. This role balances standard HR duties with sector demands, such as maintaining compliance with state and federal laws, handling background clearances, and supporting employee wellness. The HR Generalist facilitates daily HR operations for our human services programs, serving as a trusted resource for staff. The ideal candidate will blend strong compliance management with an empathetic, mission-driven approach to support a diverse and dedicated workforce. This position will be primarily based at ECHO's Atascadero location, with regular travel to the Paso Robles shelter, which will include a minimum of once per week visits or more if needed. We are looking for a person who has a can-do attitude, is passionate about engaging individuals experiencing homelessness and/or has experience with this population. We are looking for someone who can work full time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm, with flexibility for occasional mornings, nights, and weekends.- Essential Duties & Responsibilities Receives guidance from the Director of Business Operations to understand and execute the organization's human resources and talent strategy.

- Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
- Must have a reliable vehicle, clean driving record, and proof of insurance.
- Must be willing to travel throughout San Luis Obispo County.
