Kings View is seeking a Patients' Rights Advocate to promote and protect the rights of individuals receiving mental health services. This role provides advocacy, complaint resolution, education, and support to ensure compliance with California patients' rights laws and standards.Key Responsibilities:
Advocacy & Client Support:
Protect the rights and interests of mental health consumers Provide advocacy, support, and guidance to clients Address concerns and assist clients in accessing appropriate services Advocate on behalf of mental health consumers within the communityComplaint Resolution & Compliance:
Receive and investigate complaints from clients in licensed facilities Ensure facilities comply with patients' rights regulations Collaborate with mental health programs to promote regulatory compliance Maintain documentation related to advocacy efforts and investigationsEducation & Outreach:
Educate clients regarding their rights and available resources Train staff on patients' rights and legal requirements Conduct outreach and awareness activities within the community Participate in meetings and committees representing client interestsProgram Support:
Gather and analyze feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement Support crisis intervention efforts when necessary Perform additional duties as assigned to support program successWhat You'll Bring:
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Valid California Driver's License (Class C)Required Experience:
Minimum three (3) years of experience in advocacy, social services, or related field Experience within a behavioral health or mental health setting preferredRequired Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of mental health laws and patients' rights Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and collaborativelyPreferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or related field Bilingual English/Spanish preferredProfessional Attributes:
Empathetic and client-centered Professional and ethical Calm and composed under pressure Strong advocacy and conflict resolution skillsPre-Employment Requirements:
