In this role, you will partner with Executive Leadership to drive people strategy, champion our SOAR philosophy, and build a high-performing, values-driven culture. You will lead the Talent Optimization team, oversee training and development programs, manage budgets and KPIs, and ensure initiatives support organizational goals and employee growth. What a Day in the Life Looks Like You might start your day collaborating with executive leadership to align on strategic priorities or reviewing key performance metrics to track progress across talent initiatives. Throughout the day, you could be coaching your team, guiding leaders on career development or succession planning, and designing training solutions to address organizational needs. You may facilitate a leadership development session, connect with cross-functional partners to improve processes, or evaluate engagement survey results to build action plans. No two days are the same-this role blends strategy, people leadership, program design, and hands-on execution to drive meaningful impact across the organization. What You Need to Be Successful Success in this role requires a strong foundation in talent development, organizational effectiveness, or learning and development, along with a deep understanding of adult learning principles and training design. You bring strategic thinking combined with the ability to execute and influence at all levels of the organization. Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building skills are essential, as is experience managing teams, budgets, and vendor partnerships. The ideal candidate is innovative, data-driven, and passionate about creating engaging employee experiences, with the ability to translate business needs into impactful talent strategies. Experience in a regulated industry, such as financial services, is a plus. Qualifications Four-year college degree in Education, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent training experience. Minimum three years of experience developing, coordinating, and leading training classes. Minimum of three years of supervisory experience. Ability to demonstrate excellent analytical skills, a heightened orientation to detail, excellent organizational skills, and execute discretion and independent judgment. Fosters a diverse and respectful workplace where team members are valued for who they are. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Well-developed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Episys (Symitar), and other job-specific software. Experience with credit union products, marketing, and cross-selling desirable. Flexible and self-motivated. Adapts to changes while remaining focused on goals. Effective coaching and mentoring skills. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy. A superior level of member service, be a positive role model for staff, and demonstrate a high level of commitment to the organization.
