Longhini Sausage is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our New Haven, Connecticut facility. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted HR partner, supporting recruitment, employee relations, compliance, training, payroll administration, and employee engagement initiatives. What You'll Do Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and hiring support Manage onboarding processes and facilitate new hire orientation Support workforce planning initiatives and staffing needs Coordinate employee offboarding and exit interview processes Employee Relations & Workforce Support Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, payroll, attendance, and workplace matters Support managers with coaching conversations, performance management, attendance issues, and corrective actions Conduct employee relations investigations and maintain accurate documentation Foster a positive, respectful, and engaged workplace culture Compliance, Training & Safety Coordinate and track required training programs, certifications, and compliance requirements Maintain employee training records and audit-ready documentation Support workplace safety initiatives and compliance programs Assist with HR audits and regulatory reporting HR Administration & Payroll Support Maintain employee records and HR documentation within HRIS and payroll systems Support payroll-related changes, attendance tracking, and leave administration Assist with workers' compensation coordination and employee data management Prepare reports and ensure data accuracy across HR systems Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience initiatives Collaborate with Operations, Safety, and Corporate HR teams Support programs that strengthen employee engagement, retention, and workforce readiness What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 3-5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and workforce management Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field Manufacturing, food production, USDA-regulated, or multi-site HR experience Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS platforms Experience supporting plant or production environments Why Join Us?
