Job Description

Erwin Electric is a leading Florida-based electrical contractor specializing in new commercial construction. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Generalist I / II to support our growing workforce of field and office employees. This position is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and enjoys supporting employees while helping maintain efficient HR operations. Position Summary The HR Generalist I / II supports day-to-day human resources functions, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and HR record keeping. This role works closely with company leadership, field supervisors, and employees to help maintain a positive and productive workplace culture. The level (I or II) will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and ability to independently manage HR responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Recruiting - coordinate recruiting efforts for field and office positions. Post job openings, screen applicants, and schedule interviews. Conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires. Maintain employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data. Assist employees with benefits enrollment and HR-related questions. Support payroll administration by tracking employee status changes and documentation. Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local employment laws. Assist with workers' compensation claims, leave administration, and employee relations matters. Coordinate training, certifications, and compliance documentation for field employees. Support employee engagement, performance management, and retention initiatives. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information. Assist with HR reporting, audits, and administrative projects as needed.
Qualifications Experience:
HR Generalist I:
1-3 years of HR or administrative experience.
HR Generalist II:
3-5+ years of progressive HR experience preferred. Construction, trades, or multi-location workforce experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Working knowledge of HR practices and employment law compliance. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems. HR certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) is preferred for Level II candidates.
