A Human Resources Generalist provides overall operational support in a human resources department, including supporting employee relations, onboarding, benefits and leave management of a company or organization.
Keystone Hospice, located in Eagle, ID is searching for a experienced HR Generalist who wants to participate in the full employee lifecycle, not just a portion of it. This role covers recruiting, payroll processing, benefits administration, employee relations, and unemployment claims. You'll be the person who touches an employee's experience from the first interview through offboarding and everything HR-related in between. This is a great fit for someone who is early in their HR career but has already shown they can run initiatives independently, whether that came from an internship, a leadership role, or a fast-moving job where they had to figure things out without a playbook. We care more about how you think and operate than how many years are on your resume.
Responsibilities Manage full-cycle recruiting:
writing job postings, sourcing candidates, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and extending offers. Build and maintain relationships with hiring managers to understand role requirements and team needs. Track recruiting metrics and identify ways to improve time-to-fill and candidate quality. Process payroll accurately and on schedule, including handling exceptions, corrections, and special pay situations. Maintain compliance with wage and hour regulations. Serve as the point of contact for employee payroll questions. Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and employee questions. Coordinate with benefits brokers and vendors on plan administration and renewals. Help employees understand their options and make informed decisions during open enrollment. Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers on workplace concerns. Investigate and help resolve employee relations issues fairly and thoroughly. Support managers in having difficult conversations, including performance issues and conflict resolution. Manage unemployment claims, including documentation, responses, and hearings when needed. Track trends in claims to flag patterns worth addressing. Maintain accurate, compliant employee records and documentation. Identify gaps or inefficiencies in HR processes and bring forward practical improvements. Take ownership of assigned areas without needing detailed, step-by-step direction. Qualifications A degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Some HR experience is preferred (internship, assistant role, or generalist experience), but we're open to strong candidates from adjacent backgrounds who can show relevant skills. Comfortable with Google and Microsoft Suites and payroll systems, or a quick learner with these tools. Strong written and verbal communication; able to talk with employees at every level, from entry-level staff to executives. A self-starter who takes a task, figures out what's needed, and moves it forward without waiting for detailed instructions. A problem solver who looks for the root cause of an issue rather than just addressing the symptom. A collaborative mindset; comfortable working across departments and building relationships with people who don't report to you. Sound judgment and discretion; this role involves confidential and sensitive information. Results Open roles are filled with strong candidates in a reasonable timeframe, without sacrificing quality. Payroll runs accurately and on time, with issues caught and corrected before they reach employees. Employees feel benefits questions are answered clearly and enrollment goes smoothly. Employee relations issues are handled fairly, thoroughly, and with good judgment about when to escalate. HR processes get measurably better over time because you noticed something that could work better and fixed it.
