Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Performs day-to-day operational tasks for the local human resources department under the immediate supervision of an HR Manager. The Specialist carries out human resources tasks in some or all of the following functional areas: HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, general HR administration and recruitment and selection.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides support to the local HR Manager to ensure all employees are provided with key information on HR processes and procedures. Answers questions about those processes and procedures. Assists in the implementation of HR processes, policies and programs. Supports the processing of employee data by assisting in keeping the Human Resources Information System up-to-date. Present "off-the-shelf" training programs and helps develop and modify training programs so as to meet employees' learning needs, business requirements and company strategy. Supports the recruitment and selection function, which involves placing adverts, pre-employment checks, arranging short-listing and interview packs. Plays an active role in the local payroll activities in order to ensure the accuracy of all payroll outputs and processes at a facility level. This may include determining actual time worked for each employee, working days, time, rate, deductions, etc. Answers routine payroll questions as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate 3-5 years relevant experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is primarily sedentary. Sits comfortably to do the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or lifting item weighing up to 15 pounds.
