Human Resources Specialist Reports To:
Human Resources Director Role Summary The Human Resources Specialist provides essential administrative and operational support across core HR functions. This role helps ensure smooth daily operations, timely employee support, and accurate documentation while contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & On-boarding Support Coordinate job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, and candidate communication. Assist with new‑hire on-boarding, including preparing materials, conducting orientations, and ensuring timely completion of required documentation. Maintain organized recruitment files and support hiring managers with scheduling and logistics. Employee Support & Relations Serve as a first point of contact for routine HR questions regarding policies, procedures, and benefits. Support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and internal communications. Help maintain a welcoming, responsive HR presence for employees at all levels. HR Operations & Recordkeeping Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, both digital and physical. Update HRIS data, run basic reports, and support data integrity efforts. Assist with compliance tasks such as I‑9 verification, EEO tracking, and policy acknowledgments. Benefits & Payroll Coordination Support benefits administration by assisting employees with enrollment questions and directing them to appropriate resources. Coordinate with payroll to ensure timely submission of changes, new‑hire information, and status updates. Assist with annual open enrollment preparation and communication. Qualifications Required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered. 1-2 years of administrative experience, preferably in HR or a related function. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer‑service orientation. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Preferred Experience with HRIS platforms or applicant tracking systems. Basic understanding of HR practices and employment laws. Interest in pursuing HR certification (PHR, SHRM‑CP) as career progresses. Core Competencies Service mindset — responds promptly and professionally to employee needs.
