The Freeman Corporation is one of the largest and most progressive veneer manufacturers in North America. We continue to invest heavily to be the supplier of choice to the top producers worldwide of flooring, doors, hardwood plywood, furniture, cabinets, and other industries. At our Winchester plant, we employ a diverse team of approximately 190 people. We pride ourselves on offering a stable, well-established organization with a casual and friendly atmosphere.Position Overview:
We have an immediate opening for an HR Generalist who will serve as the primary point of contact for human resources, weekly payroll, timekeeping, and employee relations. Whether you are a seasoned HR professional or an entry-level candidate with a strong administrative background and an eagerness to learn, we want to hear from you. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, accurate, and ready to take ownership of our HR processes.Key Responsibilities:
Initiate, review, and accurately process weekly hourly payroll. Monitor employee timekeeping and assist team members with ADP self-service. Process onboarding and orientation for all new hires. Maintain strictly confidential employee personnel records. Analyze employee attendance and prepare corrective action documents when necessary. Act as a resource for employees regarding benefits, policies, and general HR inquiries. Assist with employee performance reviews and manage evaluations through the approval work-flow. Collaborate with team members throughout our organization and manage relationships with outside vendors. Minimum Requirements (What you must have): High School diploma or equivalent. Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and the ability to easily adapt to modern digital HR software. High level of accuracy, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve. Proven ability to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications (What will help you stand out):Experience:
1 to 3 years of prior experience in Human Resources, Payroll, or office administration (Entry-level candidates with a strong drive to learn are highly encouraged to apply!).Language Skills:
Conversational bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred to support verbal communication, answer questions, and build trust on the plant floor.Software Knowledge:
Prior experience utilizing ADP / Workforce Now cloud HR/Payroll applications.Safety Administration:
Familiarity with workplace safety reporting, light-duty documentation, or Workers' Compensation administration in a manufacturing setting.Certifications:
Active HR Certification (SHRM-CP, aPHR, or PHR) is a plus.Pay and Benefits:
$23.00 - $27.00 per hour (Candidates with bilingual fluency, active HR certifications, or extensive ADP experience will be considered at the higher end of the range).
