Job Description

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is looking for team members who will help advance our vision to be the premier hospital of choice for patients, physicians and employees. IMC is currently hiring a Human Resources (HR) Generalist , who is responsible for a range of duties related to Human Resources and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: onboarding, employee changes, leave of absence administration, benefits and compensation administration, employee relations, policy administration, and performance management. The HR Generalist serves as a primary point of contact for HR-related inquires and manages majority of HRIS tasks.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service when managing HR email address and incoming calls as primary contact for HR inquiries, Administer leave of absences, including FMLA, ADA and other applicable regulations Administer multiple benefits programs, including LA state parochial retirement plan Administer other various HR processes and programs for all employees Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures consistently across the hospital Lead and/or assist with company-wide HR events and initiatives Manage all data timely and accurately in the HRIS Assist employees and managers in answer questions related to any and all areas of Human Resources (compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, systems, etc) Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and programs Assist HR leadership with special projects, as needed by departmental goals Supports and implements the organization's vision, mission and values. Complies with organizational policies and procedures. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field preferred At least two (2) years of human resources experience required Previous HR experience in a healthcare/hospital setting preferred HRCI and/or SHRM certification preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Proficiency in using computers, software and web-based applications, including but not limited to Microsoft office suite Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HCM and other associated software applications Knowledge of benefits regulations, plan designs and compliant administration Knowledge of local, state and federal laws involving employment, HR and benefits Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels throughout the organization Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to organize and prioritize work with minimum supervision. Ability to perform most essential job duties independently and exercise good judgment Must be a self-starter Flexible, detail-oriented, and multi-task effectively Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
